The KSU Rahmat Kinara Cooperative is located in the Gayo Highland region of Central Aceh in Takengon at an elevation of 1,200-1,300 meters.
Gayo Highland is the most well-known place in Indonesia for high quality Arabica coffee and sustainably managed farms. The word "Gayo" means "nice" in English and comes from the local tribe which consists of nearly 85,000 people living in the mountains near where the coffee is grown.
The cooperative uses the wet-hulled or semi-washed processing method, called "Giling Basah" in the local language and is later sun dried. This bean brings flavours of dark chocolate, berry & caramel to the cup.
Our current lot is KSU Rahmat Kinara Cooperative Fair Trade & Organic Certified.
